| MINUTES FROM 08/23/06 Council was called to order at 7:04 pm by the Grand Knight. A prayer was lead by Msgr. Westhues and the "Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag" followed. All officers were present except the first year Trustee. From the Grand Knight: 1. New members and reactivation

| 2. Mentioned Fr. Kiefer, former pastor at St. Agnes was appointed Knight's State Chaplin. | ||
| 3. Talked about the observation
of the "World Day of Peace" and cited sources of articles by
Knights concerning the Stem Cell Research. Also, a letter was read concerning getting involved with "Rose for Life" activities and a mention that there would be bumper stickers available soon. |
||
| 4. A monetary amount from the
Council's funds was asked for to supplement that which was obtained from the Silent Auction at the St. Agnes Parish Picnic for tuition assistance. The motion was passed. |
||
| 5. A letter was read from a
college student belonging to St. Agnes Parish concerning the low attendance at "Perpetual Adoration" gatherings. A suggestion was made to help increase the attendance of Knights and others at the gatherings. |
||
| 6. A Benefit Dance for Brad
Burnum will take place at the Knight's Hall to help defray medical costs. |
||
| 7. The Council passed a motion
to donate a sum to the Carmelite Sisters at the Monastery in Jeff City for the purpose of helping to pay for the warped floor at the Monastery. |
||

1. It was mentioned that Fr. Mike noticed very few participated in the
Knight's monthly rosary. A |

| 2. The Council Advocate
proposed an idea for a fund raising activity for tuition assistance.
It involved selling raffle tickets to stay at the Big Cedar Lodge. It was mentioned that there should be more research on the idea. |
||
| 3. A mandatory
organization meeting was scheduled after the Council's Meeting for those
who wished to sign up for participation in the "Bartenders Ball" |
||
| 4. Sunday's Knights Breakfast
at the St. Agnes Cafeteria will resume in September. There will be
articles to be sold beginning at the October (15th) Breakfast and possibly others to follow. These articles were donated and the donor will contribute proceeds to the Council. |
||
| 5. The Tootsie Roll Drive will proceed at the Walmart in Republic on schedule. | ||
| 6. Contributions of furniture
and other house-ware articles can be made to a person in need. If
you have something to contribute, contact a Knight at this Council. |
||
| 7. Need help from our Council Knights for the upcoming "Poker Run" | ||

| From the District Deputy: 1. We need a strong showing of the Council Knights at the 50th Anniversary of the Diocese. |

| 2. There are 6 new Knights from the different Councils in the area. | ||
3. Mentioned the dates, times and places for the up-coming Degree meetings. |

| 4. The Council needs to get in it's order for Roses-for-Life (cards) by Sept.15th. | ||
| 5. Installation of the new Council officers ( after this meeting). | ||
