COUNCIL ACTIVITIES

 

 

 

       The June, 2010 meeting was called to order by the Grand Knight at 7:01 pm, followed
       by the “Our Father” and “Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag”, led by Fr. Phillip. All
       officers were present except the Deputy Grand Knight, Chancellor, Financial Secretary,
       Lecturer, Inside Guard, Outside Guard and all 3 Trustees.  A total of 12 knights were
       present. The minutes were approved with no corrections through common procedure.

   From the Grand Knight:

1.  The Grand Knight suggested Dwain Minton be admitted into our Council.  After
     a discussion, a motion and a second were made to admit him, and a vote carried the
     motion.

2.  The G.K. congratulated the new Council Officers and mentioned the installment of
     the Officers will take place at the next monthly meeting.

3. The G.K. mentioned the new District Deputy, Rocky Gamboa.

4. The G. K. asked for volunteers to move furniture in the Elementary School at 8 am
    on June 24th.

5. The G.K. mentioned the drop-off times for the Parish Garage Sale on July 10th,
     11th, 17th and 18th. The Garage sale will take place on July 23-24.

 

 

 

     

 

 

       From the Chaplin:  

       Fr. Phillip mentioned;

              1.  Fr. Jeff Fashing will be residing in the rectory and help out with Latin Masses.
              2.  A Seminarian will also be staying in the Rectory.
              3. July 17th will be the 5th Anniversary of Bill Keller as Deacon.
              4. Mentioned the Garage Sale.

 

 

 

 

     Treasurer's and Financial Secretary’s Reports:

 

       The Treasurer reported on the bills and money received from activities after the last
       council meeting.  Also, he mentioned that financial condition of the Council was in
       good condition and reported the amount of monies the Council had in the bank and
       mentioned the 5% monthly monies set aside for the Council.

 

       

 

         

 

     Unfinished and New Business:

             Various items were addressed.

1.      Discussion concerning the last Council BBQ was initiated.  There was a Low
attendance but quite a few workers present.  It was suggested the next BBQ,
July 18th be advertised a week or two before.  Jim Tuckness mentioned our
Council will be preparing the meat for sessions at Camp Renewal. Also, a
suggestion was made to add more events to the BBQ activity to get a higher
attendance (music, and more “conversation-engagement” with Knight Workers
and the parish members).   

2.      Keith Norton mentioned the Blood Drive scheduled for 4pm-8pm on Friday,
 June 25th at the St. Agnes Elementary School Band Room.  There will be
pancakes and bagels available for those who donate. Helpers to manage the
snack table will be appreciated.  It was also mentioned the Knight’s could
have enough people to have a blood drive every month or so.

 

3.      The G. K. reported the Softball game is scheduled on July 25th at 1:00 pm on
the Elementary School Grounds.

 

     

4.      The G. K. led the discussion on the installation of New Officers for our Council
and the Ladies Auxiliary to take place in the Elementary School Cafeteria during
the next Meeting on July 28th at 7:00 pm.

           

 

     

 

      From the Insurance Agent:

         No report---not present

 

       

 

       From the District Deputy:

       Pray for Special People:

1.      We should keep Sarah Taylor (Richard Taylor’s wife) in our prayers.

2.      Also Shelly Griese (wife of Tim Griese) in our prayers.

3.      Elisa Adams and her family. Elisa (12 years old) passed away recently.

 

 

         Closing of Meeting:

 

        Fr. Phillip closed the meeting with a prayer.
