COUNCIL ACTIVITIES

The May meeting was called to order by the Grand Knight at 7:08 pm, followed
by the “Our Father” and “Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag”. All officers were present
except the Deputy Grand Knight, Inside Guard, and 3^rd Year Trustee. A total of 14
members were present. The minutes from the April meeting were distributed. Two
corrections to the minutes were made. A motion was then made to accept the minutes
as amended and seconded. A vote carried the motion. The corrections were made.

From the Grand Knight:

1. The Grand Knight acknowledged Andy Love who, in turn introduced Oliver Kramer,
as a new transfer to our Council. Oliver then proceeded to announce additional
members wishing admittance into our Council. These were; Michael Roberts, Tony
Kramer, Richard Holland, Michael Kramer, Bill Jackson and Jim Xavier. In add-
ition, 3 others asking membership were; Chris Neill, Larry Cataldo and Nick Ferry.

2. The G.K. reported on the State Convection of Knights’ which he and Andy Love
attended. He mentioned and encouraged members to enroll in a course “Get To
Know Your Faith”. There was a discussion concerning the course by council members.
He also mentioned the State Council turned down and tabled the $3 contribution by
Councils to their parish retired priests. The G. K. mentioned that a Council in Cape
Girardeau took steps to go ahead with the contribution.

3. The G.K. mentioned that Fr. Mike loved the Sunset Stroll stating it was a tremendous
activity to get parish members together. Fr. Mike bought a T-Shirt and made a
donation.

4. The G. K. also mentioned he had other items to report during Old and New Business
later in the Meeting.

5. The G. K. reported in detail concerning the “Sunset Stroll” and mentioned that the
success of the Stroll may have been affected by other conflicting activities scheduled
at the same time. He suggested that he be contacted to get feedback on a possible
new date for the Stroll.

From the Chaplin:

Treasurer's and Financial Secretary’s Reports:

        The Treasurer reported on the bills and money received from activities after the last
council meeting. Also, he mentioned that financial condition of the Council was in
good condition and reported the amount of monies the Council had in the bank.
The new Financial Secretary, Randy Friga, asked questions about the new applicants
to the Council. Randy then asked about membership dues for our Council Members
and suggested members take care of that.

Unfinished and New Business:

Various items were addressed.

1. The G. K., Jim Grier and others led a discussion that materials left over from the
Stroll, including T-Shirts could be on sale at other upcoming events.

2. Next, a discussion by Council Members concerning distribution of specific
monies from the Stroll. A motion was made to give St. Agnes $500 and the
other schools $50 each. The vote carried the motion.

3. Next a discussion concerning the June 9^th Parish Picnic took place. It was suggested
that Council Members be present to help set-up and help afterwards.

4. The G. K. led a discussion how we could help Sister Barbara and Marian Youth Group,
who will be present in Springfield on the week of June 14^th to work. There was a
suggestion that the Council feed the approximately 70 Youth at St. Agnes Cafeteria.
A motion was made to feed the Youth, seconded and a vote carried the motion.

5. Andy Love mentioned he was putting together a calendar for the next year concerning
Council Activities.

6. The G. K mentioned a Community Blood Center “Blood Drive” on July 26^th
in the St. Agnes Elementary Band Room at 7-11:00 pm.

7. A discussion was made concerning the installation of the new Officers for next year.
It was mentioned that all family members would be invited to the Installation on July
22^nd, at the July Council Meeting.

8. The last item of business was the nominations and Council voting on next years’ Council
Officers. The correct procedure for each Nominee to each position was followed (Robert’s
Rules of Order) There was only one nomination for each position. The results of the new
Council Officers are:
