COUNCIL ACTIVITIES

The April meeting was called to order by the Grand Knight at 7:04 pm, followed
by the “Our Father” and “Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag”. All officers were present
except the Advocate, Chancellor, Inside Guard and 1^st Year Trustee. A total of
15 knights were present. The minutes from the March Meeting were accepted after
a correction was made by Randy Friga. A motion was made by Ben Francka to accept
the minutes including the correction, seconded by John Kubicek. A vote carried
the motion.

From the Grand Knight:

1. The Grand Knight mentioned that Phillip Neill wanted to become a knight.
Randy Friga motioned to accept him for a First Degree. A vote carried the motion.

2. The Grand Knight mentioned the officers for the coming year. The officers will
be the same except for the following: First Year Trustee = Keith Norton and Second
Year Trustee = John Wooldridge.

3. A discussion concerning the local members for State Deputy was initiated by Randy
Friga and who our Council Representatives should vote for. The 2 members were Ron
Berger and Greg Stratton. Other members in the discussion were Joe Schumaker,
John Wooldridge, Matt Siegmann, and Ben Francka. After the discussion there was
a motion to cast our votes for one of the candidates. Except for one vote against, the
vote on the motion was unanimous. A few days later Tom Nelson contacted us and
gave news that Greg Stratman was the new State Deputy.

4. The Grand Knight mentioned the Pope’s visit to the U. S. and that Bishops, John and
James were introduced to the Pope. He also mentioned there was a DVD on the Pope’s
visit for sale.

5. The Grand Knight thanked all those who helped at the last Knight’s Breakfast and
mentioned we did not make much money on it but that we had a lot of food to help
us in the next pancake breakfast in May.

6. The Grand Knight thanked the Deputy Grand Knight, Ryan Neill for transporting Matt
Siegmann, Dale Decker and Johnny Bueno to obtain their 2^nd and 3^rd Degrees.

7. The Grand Knight also mentioned he was still working on our next Chaplin.

Possibilities include Frs. Rudolpho and Phillip.

From the Chaplin:

No report---no official Chaplin yet.

Treasurer's and Financial Secretary’s Reports:

        The Treasurer reported on the bills and money received from activities after the last
council meeting. Also, he mentioned that financial condition of the Council was in
good condition.

Unfinished and New Business:

       1. A lengthy discussion developed concerning the Mons. John Westheus “Sunset Stroll”
to raise tuition or scholarships for the Catholic Schools. The Grand Knight suggested
we keep the first annual stroll “low keyed”. The discussion included various ideas
concerning the amount of money donation or fee for participants, food at the activity,
etc. Ben Francka was going to suggest a date of May, 16^th from 6:00 pm to 12:00
midnight to the Parish Council. It was suggested that the details of the “Stroll” be
decided by the “Stroll” committee.

       2.  A meeting of the committee for the “Stroll” met after the Council Meeting to formulate
the details. After the meeting, Ben Francka was to supply the Council’s Recorder
with details of the “Stroll” activities to be placed on the Council’s web page. It was also
mentioned that the “ladies auxiliary” was going to help with the “Stroll” activities.

3. Matt Siegmann suggested that we might possibly ask former members of the disbanded
MSU Knight’s Council if they might want to join our Council. He was going to look into
it.

From the Insurance Agent:

           The Field Agent, Joe Schumaker, discussed how Supreme invests our monies, which
included bond and life insurance investments.

From the District Deputy:

Was not present—No report.

Pray for Special People:

1. An e-mail from Tom Nelson before the news of Bill Kaufmann’s death requested
the Knight’s pray for him.

2. It was also suggested that we pray for our priests.

3. Also, it was mentioned we pray for one of the members of the “auxiliary” who’s
child is in neo-natal care.

Closing of Meeting:

         The Grand Knight closed the meeting and led the Council in the “Hail Mary”, and
“Glory Be”.

April 13^th --- 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd Degree at Kimberling City (Council # 7588). The first
degree will start at 11:00am and the major degree will start at 1:00pm.
  Please have any candidates there 30 minutes prior to start of the degree.

April 13^th ---6:30-9:30 pm--St. Agnes Parish Wine Walking Event at “The Catholic Corner”,
South Avenue and McDaniel Streets. Includes tastes of Gourmet Wines and
Foods and a wonderful Silent Auction---proceeds go Tuition Assistance for
children of St. Agnes and St. Joseph Elementary.
