COUNCIL ACTIVITIES

 

 

 

       The January, 2010 meeting was called to order by the Grand Knight at 7:05 pm, followed
       by the “Our Father” and “Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag”. All officers were present
       except the Chancellor, Lecturer, Inside and Outside Guards, and the 1st and 2nd Year
       Trustees.  A total of 16 knights were present. No minutes from last Meeting since there
       was no meeting.        

   From the Grand Knight:

1.  The Grand Knight read applications for new members, Greg Glockner and John Appelton.

2.  The G.K. mentioned the Missouri State Knights Meeting in Jeff City and asked if any-
     one wanted to go (04/23-25)

3.  The G.K. mentioned the good monies obtained from the last Council breakfast.

4.  The G. K. acknowledged Tim Griese who reported the monies made at the Bowl-A-
     Thon.

5.  The G. K. mentioned the Free-Throw Contest and Council 5th Year Dinner Dance were
     canceled. He said the Free Throw Contest would be held on Jan. 31st for 10-12 year olds.

6.  The G. K. acknowledged Keith Norton for his great work on the Blood-Drive.

7.  The G. K. mentioned some things were not turned in the Kitchen after our last breakfast.

8.  The G. K. acknowledged Randy Friga who reported on his trip to Haiti.

9.  The G.K. said he and Mr. Mike talked about the next Council Fish Fry.  The Council
     should purchase Knight’s Aprons and wear them at the Fish Fry.  Also, we should

 

 

            Organize the Squires (10 minimum) and let them help at the Fish Fry. Also, the Squires
            could get shirts and help at Council Breakfasts.

   

       10.  The G.K. reported on the monies received to date from Bingo turned over to St. Agnes
               Cathedral.

 

     

 

 

       From the Chaplin:  

1.      Fr. Phillip reported on Fr. Rodolph and his family in Haiti—all were fine.

 

2.      He mentioned the Ordination of another Deacon.

 

 

 

     Treasurer's and Financial Secretary’s Reports:

 

       The Treasurer reported on the bills and money received from activities after the last
       council meeting.  Also, he mentioned that financial condition of the Council was in
       good condition and reported the amount of monies the Council had in the bank.
       He also reported on the amount to date of the 5% savings account received
       from the Council activities.  The Financial Secretary’s report indicated the Council’s
       financial condition was in good shape.

 

       

 

         

 

     Unfinished and New Business:

             Various items were addressed.

1.      The Council members need to take down some of the Christmas lights in the Cathedral
grounds.

2.      Jim Tuckness led a discussion on the preparation and sale of Briskets before the Super-
Bowl.

 

3.       A short discussion on the Council buying a new carpet cleaner took place.  It was decided;
 if Fr. Mike OKs it the Council will have more discussion and possibly purchase it.

 

        

4.      Jim Tuckness motioned to buy a new twin basket Fish fry and French-Fry cooker for
$149.  A second was made and the vote carried the motion.

 

5.      The Feb. 19th Fish Fry 4:30-7 pm was discussed in detail.  It was decided on no baked fish
 but baked potato and tater-tots along with fried and smoked Tilapia fish. Those
 interested to work, come in by 3-3:30 pm.  Also, it was decided to advertise it in the
 Bulletin. A printing advertisement of the Fish Fry will be given to the school children to
 take home.

 

6.      Tim Griese mentioned a tentative schedule for the Sunset Stroll for May 7th. It was
 mentioned that the Ladies Auxiliary would also be involved.

 

7.      It was mentioned that the Ladies Auxiliary helped finance Randy Friga’s trip to Haiti.

 

8.      The Council needs to think about new Council officer candidates for the next year.

           

 

     

 

      From the Insurance Agent:

         Closing of Meeting:

 

        Fr. Phillip closed the meeting with a special prayer and the “Glory Be”.
